Paris Saint-Germain Announce their Departure from EU Challenger Series
|
French soccer giants, Paris Saint-Germain, entered League of Legends competitions for one sole purpose, and that is to reach LCS. However, plans were not going as they have planned as PSG’s team struggled a lot in their first season. During that time, PSG did not have a lot of success as they failed to reach the LCS. As this season started, PSG believed that they might be achieving their goals in one of the two splits. Unfortunately for them, that did not happen, and the team’s officials have decided to make a huge change in the organization.
So far, PSG competed in the EU Challenger Series, and while the previous splits were not that bad, the 2017 Summer Split has been disastrous for them as they have failed to win even a single match so far.
The Announcement
Summer Split of the EU Challenger Series started five weeks ago and in during that period, PSG has failed to win even in a single series, and that is what made the team’s officials to react in the drastic move. Because of their bad record, the team has decided that they will be stepping down from the EU Challenger Series competition at the end of the Summer Split.
PSG has announced that they will be finishing this split but that they just do not see any point in continuing with the competition with this kind of form. They have notified the organizers about their decision, and it has been revealed to them that if they ever want to come back to the competition, they will have to go through Challenger Series qualifiers once again.
Changes in the Roster
Before the start of the Summer Split, PSG had big hopes for this competition. Because of that, they decided to make two changes to their roster in order to achieve much better results. The first player that came in the team was Tomas ‘Nardeus’ Maršalek and fans, as well as the team, had huge expectations from this player.
The second player that joined PSG before the start of the EU Challenger Series Summer Split was Lewis ‘NoXiaK’ Simon Felix. With these changes, PSG started the competition in the Summer Split. However, things were not going that well for them because they were not able to win in any matches of the opening weeks.
After only two weeks of the competition, PSG once again made a roster change and this time Lewis ‘NoXiaK’ Simon Felix who joined the team just a couple of months before the start of the competition had to left the team. Instead of him, PSG singed Johan ‘Klaj’ Olsson who previously played for Fnatic Academy.
Even with Klaj, PSG was not able to do anything in the competition and right now, PSG has no way of keeping their spot in the competition even if they managed to win in all of the matches before the end of the Summer Split’s group stage. PSG has not announced what their plans for the future are and whether or not they will attempt to get back into the competition. It will take some time for them to understand what they want to do in eSports and we will surely be finding out very soon their decision.
