Next Call of Duty Game To Return To the Game’s Roots
|
The newest edition of the Call of Duty game is expected to be released later in 2017. The game, like many others in the series, is expected to be big in the esports community. However, many esports enthusiasts and esports betting firms will be surprised at the game will return to its basic roots in a way.
Sledgehammer Games will be developing the new game expected to be released in November. Reports are that the game will take place in Vietnam. In particular, it will take place during the Vietnam War.
The game is expected to be based on the Fog of War game that Sledgehammer developed but eventually cancelled. Some art renderings of what is being planned for the game have been released.
Reports also state that the game will be focused more on ground combat. This is a change from recent developments where more air-based combat has been utilized in matches.
The Call of Duty series has experienced a declining number of sales and esports payers in recent time. This comes amid the series going into space and getting into more futuristic settings. Whether existing CoD teams will adopt this new game remains unclear at this point.
Reports suggest that the new Call of Duty game will also target more potential esports competitors by being released for the PC as well as both major PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. There have been rumors that the game may also be released on the brand new Nintendo Switch system.
