The Millennial Esports arena will open on March 3 the Neonopolis shopping mall in the Downtown region of Las Vegas. The Esports Arena is right past the east end of the Fremont Street Experience and is one block west of the historic El Cortez casino and hotel.
This new Esports Arena is the first esports venue of its kind to open in Las Vegas. It is a 15,000-square foot venue with 200 seats. It has a warm-up area for teams, a studio for analysis desks and a VIP room.
This marks the latest development in Las Vegas being a critical hub for esports in the United States. The city has hosted League of Legends and Counter-Strike tournaments at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in recent time. The smaller venue at Neonopolis is expected to be a regular hub for esports events. Evenso, it is not expected to replace larger venues on the Strip like the Mandalay Bay center, the MGM Grand Garden Arena or T-Mobile Arena for major championship events.
The first esports event here will be a Halo World Championship qualifier. A Madden 17 NFL event will be held later in the year. LoL and CS events are expected to be held in the near future.
Whether people will be allowed to bet at physical sportsbooks on esports events taking place at this venue is unclear in the future. Although many William Hill sportsbooks in Nevada have taken in esports bets on special occasions in the past, there is no telling if esports will become a permanent fixture to more sportsbooks in the state.
