A couple of weeks ago, Effect, a Dota 2 team from Russia did not have a good period as they failed to make any significant impact in the qualifiers for The International 7. Even though the entered those qualifiers with big plans and expectations, the reality was something completely different. Each of their matches was a struggle for itself as the team was not able to fully develop their game that became their characteristic in so many tournaments over the last couple of months.
Even though there are still many tournaments to be played this season, with The International 7 being the biggest and the most important, many teams have already started to prepare for the next season. One of those teams is Effect who announced today that two of their players have left the team.
The Players Who Left
Current Effect Dota 2 team was put together a couple of months ago when Aleksey ‘nongrata’ Vasiliev and Igor ‘Maden’ Modenov joined Rinat ‘KingR’ Abdullin. Both of those players were brought in as a part of the plan to improve the team’s performances in the upcoming tournaments which should have culminated in the qualifiers for The International.
However, that did not happen, and the team management decided that it was time to make the shuffle in the team in order to have the team prepared for the next season. Today, the team announced that Nongrata and Maden were released from the team which came as a surprise as we have said before, both players joined the team just a couple of months ago.
In the statement in which team announced the departure of these players, the team said that this decision has been reached a long time ago but that they have waited for the right opportunity to announce to the public. The team also stated that they wish all the best to these two players but that the circumstances in the team have become such that it has become impossible for them to work together.
With Nongrata and Maden leaving the team, there are only three players that are currently left on the team and those are Andrey ‘Afroninje’ Afonin, Rinat ‘KingR’ Abdulin, and Arseniy ‘ArsZeeqq’ Usov. So far, the team has not announced any information about the players who might be replacing two players that left. However, it seems that Effect will be rushing with the decision as the start of the new season is far away.
Neither Effect nor any of the players have made a statement about where these two players might be continuing their careers. The shuffle in the CIS region started a couple of weeks ago as many teams are looking to improve their prospects for the next season. Because of that, many expect that Nongrata and Maden will soon be finding their new home.
Even though we already see the signs of the start of the shuffle, it is expected that the real shuffle will begin after The International that will be played from August 7th to August 12th in Seattle, Washington.
