Amateur CoD Players Invited to Pro-Am Competition in Sault Ste. Marie

UMG Media Corp has announced a new pro-am Competition Call of Duty Infinite Warfare esports event in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. This event will be held on April 8-9 at the Machine Shop at Mill Square.

The UMG Sault Ste. Marie Pro-Am Competition is open to all people as an amateur tournament. While the event is designed to provide CoD players with a new form of competition, it is also being designed as a means of gauging esports interest in Northern Ontario. This may also be to help with adding new esports betting opportunities in casinos around Ontario.

The event will entail each team who competes playing in at least two 30-minute games. The playoff and group stage formats will be determined based on the number of teams that will compete in the event. There will be four players on each team at this event.

The first-place team will win $6,000. Second place will earn $3,000 while the third place team will get $1,000.

It costs $150 for a team to enter into the tournament. Teams from outside Ontario can enter into the event although lodging is required as needed. Also, any player under the age of 17 must receive parental approval for competing.

The event is also being held as a promotional event for highlighting the world of esports. A few panel discussions and sponsorship booths will be set up during the event for the public to check out. This is especially to highlight the world of esports and to find potential people who might be interested in competing with certain teams in the future.
